◀ Prestigious award: The "Oscar" of knowledge management ▶
The MIKE Award originated from the MAKE Award (Most Admired Knowledge Enterprise) in 1998, initiated by Teleos in collaboration with the KNOW Network. Every year, it selects the most respected knowledge organizations at three levels: national, continental, and global. The list of winners often includes well-known companies such as Accenture, Google, Amazon, Apple, Deloitte, IBM, Infosys, Microsoft, Samsung, China Merchants Securities, COFCO, and others.
It is the highest honor in the international knowledge management field, known as the "Oscar" of knowledge management. In 2011, the MAKE Award was introduced to China and has successfully held seven sessions, leading Chinese enterprises to benchmark against international standards.
Since 2018, Tsinghua University Technology Innovation Research Center, Hong Kong Polytechnic University Knowledge Management and Innovation Research Center, Shenzhen Lanling Software Co., Ltd., and other institutions have jointly upgraded the MAKE Award to the Most Innovative Knowledge Organization (MIKE) Award, while launching the China MIKE Award selection.
China Petroleum, NetEase Games, and China Southwest Architectural Design Institute stood out in fierce competition, won the 2018 China MIKE Excellence Award, and were recommended to compete for the global MIKE Award, ultimately winning the "2018 Global Most Innovative Knowledge Organization Award."
◀ Recommended by award-winning companies, participating enjoys 4 major business values ▶
The MIKE Award is open to all formal enterprises and organizations that promote knowledge management innovation practices. By participating in the MIKE Award, companies/organizations can achieve 4 major values:
1. Innovative achievements receive authoritative endorsement
The innovative achievements of companies/organizations in knowledge and capital management receiving the MIKE Award indicate that the enterprise has made significant contributions in empowering employees' growth and business development, reflecting a high level in various fields such as internal management, product lifecycle management, sales, and services.
2. Expert jury guidance
The China MIKE Award expert jury consists of researchers from well-known domestic universities such as Tsinghua University, Peking University, and Harbin Institute of Technology, as well as executives from well-known companies. Participating companies/organizations can receive valuable constructive feedback from the expert jury to better guide their knowledge management efforts and support continuous improvement.
3. Global quality enterprise exchange opportunities
Companies/organizations can gain opportunities to communicate, learn, and discuss with the top 500 and industry-leading enterprises from China and around the world, enhancing the practical construction of knowledge management, thereby better empowering business development and increasing competitiveness in the market.
4. Priority to compete for the global MIKE Award
Companies that rank in the top three of the China MIKE Award can be recommended to compete for the global MIKE Award, competing alongside internationally renowned companies, expanding the global visibility of the enterprise. This allows them to benchmark against advanced international enterprises, learn from their knowledge management concepts, and better empower the management of "people, finance, materials, affairs, and intelligence" for better enterprise development.
Li Jianfeng, Head of Knowledge Management Center, China Petroleum
Since we introduced the concept of knowledge management in 2012, we have vigorously promoted knowledge engineering construction. Through measures such as team building, establishing supporting systems, creating methods, and focusing on application, we have completed the design of the oil and gas business knowledge system, built a preliminary knowledge base, developed a cloud-based knowledge engineering management application platform, and piloted its application in the oil and gas exploration and development industry, effectively supporting knowledge sharing and learning exchanges within and outside the group. By participating in the MIKE Award evaluation, we have exchanged and discussed with more excellent enterprises, learned from outstanding experiences, identified gaps, and further enhanced our confidence in advancing knowledge management construction, which will better promote our knowledge management practices.
Jia Yong, Knowledge Management Director, NetEase Games
We have been engaged in knowledge management for six or seven years, during which we have accumulated a lot of experience, such as combining knowledge management with games to create knowledge columns like "Game Matters," "Easy Knowledge," and "Game Easy." By participating in the MIKE Award evaluation, we have better conveyed and shared our concepts and experiences in knowledge management, and also gained opportunities to exchange and discuss with other excellent enterprises. At the same time, we are very honored that our achievements in knowledge management can receive authoritative recognition, which will motivate us to continue moving forward on the path of knowledge management.
Xu Yajuan, General Manager of Information Center, China Southwest Architectural Design Institute
Since our establishment in 1950, our institute has completed nearly 10,000 engineering design tasks. Generations of engineers have continuously accumulated, shared, and innovated knowledge resources during this process, deepening knowledge management practices and driving personal growth and enterprise development. By participating in the MIKE Award evaluation, we have had the opportunity to exchange, learn, and discuss with excellent enterprises from around the world, and have received many professional opinions from industry experts, which will better guide our future knowledge management construction.
◀ 8 new standards, comprehensively assessing organizational innovation capabilities ▶
The standards of the MIKE Award are based on the original MAKE framework but emphasize innovation more. Based on the latest research on innovation, knowledge management, and intellectual capital management, the MIKE international expert group analyzed the main factors affecting organizational innovation performance and expanded them into eight new standards for continuous innovation in knowledge organizations. Additionally, innovation performance indicators have been added, allowing organizations to choose one or more measurement indicators that best suit them, providing data and evidence for self-assessment.
