The 2018 Global MIKE Award (Asia Region) winners list is out!

Three mainland Chinese companies recognized with global awards for knowledge practices

China Southwest Architectural Design and Research Institute Co., Ltd., NetEase Games, and China Petroleum & Chemical Corporation, representing mainland China along with 16 other benchmark companies in Asia such as Wipro Limited, share the honor of the 2018 Global Most Innovative Knowledge Organization Award (MIKE). China Petroleum ranked 3rd in the 2017 Fortune Global 500 companies. Since introducing knowledge management concepts in 2012, it has piloted construction in 3 directly affiliated research institutes, 3 oilfield companies, and 3 refining companies, promoting the deep application of knowledge engineering through team building, supporting systems, and innovative methods.

The China Petroleum Knowledge Engineering Platform (SKM) provides a 3+1 application model tailored to research characteristics: project application, thematic application, personal application + Petroleum Baidu, effectively supporting learning and communication among talents inside and outside the petrochemical industry, and promoting professional capability enhancement.

By integrating multiple systems and internal resources, knowledge columns such as "Game Matters", "Easy Knowledge", and "Easy Play" have been established, along with knowledge zones like "Engine Zone" and "Patent Zone", connecting to the KM-POPO robot, comprehensively improving business operations and empowering employee growth.

NetEase Games' KM platform has reached over 20 million visits, with a total knowledge sharing scale of over 240,000, total discussions and exchanges exceeding 108,000, and over 2,500 expert users, further promoting the accumulation and sharing of corporate knowledge, agile knowledge retrieval and reuse, driving knowledge innovation, and supporting business development.

China Southwest Architectural Design Institute promotes knowledge management practices based on business, centered on employees, and rooted in customers, continuously strengthening the business empowerment orientation of knowledge management, empowering knowledge-based employees to innovate, and creating a new ecosystem of integration, collaboration, and sharing.

Collaborating with Lanling to build multiple platforms for knowledge management, research management, project management, etc., supporting the "building, managing, and using" of knowledge. In the future, it will focus on data center construction to create a comprehensive, accurate, and fast digital resource center platform, establishing an effective closed loop based on strong data support for marketing, production, operation, and management.
 

MIKE Award, seeking the most innovative knowledge organizations

The Most Innovative Knowledge Organization Award (MIKE) is an upgrade from the Most Admired Knowledge Enterprise (MAKE) Award and was initiated in 2018 by institutions such as Tsinghua University’s Technology Innovation Research Center, Hong Kong Polytechnic University’s Knowledge Management and Innovation Research Center, and Shenzhen Lanling Software Co., Ltd. at the Asia Knowledge Forum.

By participating in the MIKE Award, companies/organizations can gain professional recognition for their knowledge and intellectual capital management innovations; receive constructive feedback from the judging panel to support continuous improvement; and win opportunities for mutual learning and enhance each other's practices.

The MIKE Award selection is divided into two levels: National/Regional MIKE Award and Global MIKE Award (following the same standards). Each country/region will entrust the organizing agency to initiate the national/regional MIKE award; the top-performing companies/institutions in the national/regional rankings can be recommended to participate in the global MIKE award. The Global MIKE Study Group (GMSG) is responsible for judging the global MIKE and announces the results every February.
